Step-by-Step: Using a Peak Flow Meter

Choose a preferred language

Set the peak flow meter sliding marker to zero. Stand up straight. Breathe out once. Breathe in once. Place the peak flow meter into your mouth. Blow into the peak flow meter as hard as you can. Record the number the marker on the peak flow meter has reached. Repeat these steps two more times. Record the highest number of the three readings. This number is your peak flow.
