Patient Stories: Matt, Hip Replacement
Patient Stories: Matt, Hip ReplacementThe symptoms that I was experiencing were really incredibly sore. Both my left and my right hip. The right hipbecame much more severe, and that had been going on for almost two years.Well, my diagnosis was that on my left hip it was just wear and tear and the hip had just worn down and theremay have been some arthritis there as well. With the right hip it was just arthritis. That blew my mind. I mean, I came out of the surgery and I had to recover from the medications they gave me.But they said, we're going to come and you're going to go for a walk on the corridor later this evening. And Iwas able to. It was unbelievable.I knew what I was not able to do, and I was very careful about not doing that. But it was remarkable. Absolutelyremarkable. The improvement I had.I can get myself up and down stairs without being in pain. I can go to the bathroom without being in pain withmy hips sitting down and standing up. I can mow the lawn, I can walk and I'm looking forward to doing so muchmore of that in the future. And I'm not old. I'm 61 years old. But to be feeling the way I was feeling before the surgery just was just wasn'tright. And I'm just grateful for the way I feel now. And with every day getting a little bit more back that I'd stopdoing and almost forgotten about being able to do.This program is for informational purposes only.
